Sharon's wedding dress was from 1988. It had a shiny polyester satin fabric making up the skirt and bodice. Satin ruffles with fishing line decorated the hemline. Lace topstitched onto cut-outs in the skirt and sleeves. And big beautiful bows to top it off. During the time of donation, this dress was stained and the sequins discolored. With cleaning all dis-colorment was washed away, except for the sequins.
Sharon's dress was used in the getting ready sets look for the dresses smooth and soft satin feel. Both the shorts and corset top were completely made from Sharon's fabric. Decorated in carefully picked-off lace and ruffles. The lining for the robe was made from Sharon's satin and created a major wow factor. Lace motifs left in place to honor the original design.
With so many decorative elements to this dress, it was important to honor their placement throughout the look and the collection. The bows were detached and used in other looks in the collection. Some of the ruffles utilized in the shorts. (I am holding onto the rest of the ruffles for another fun look soon to come! -Lauren)
